LEARN TO COOK WITH ACORNS

LEARN TO COOK WITH ACORNS:

NOTE: Date can change. Waiting to hear back on availability of the Kitchen.

California is oak trees! Come learn how to turn their gift of acorns into delicious meals, using tools in any kitchen. This class is fun, intensive, and hands-on.  Wild food educator Wolfgang Rougle will take you through the whole process, creating several sweet and savory acorn recipes as you participate.  Lunch is provided and you'll take home a jar of processed acorns to use at home. Along the way, you'll also learn about scouting for the yummiest acorns, caring for oak trees, human-oak history, and oak woodland ecology.    Come change the way you look at an oak tree forever!

This is a great class for (older) children who are comfortable around kitchen things like knives and boiling water.

Please bring: A quart jar.  Acorns will be provided, but if you'd like to bring some from your home, PLEASE do so!

There will be ample vegetarian and gluten-free options.

This class is not for those with tree nut allergies.

Best,

Wolfy
